Greater Toledo Heritage and Horizons (GTHH) is a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit organization serving Toledo and the surrounding rural community. Our work includes supporting improvements and environmental projects at South Lewis County Park, hands-on STEM and water-quality education, preservation of local heritage, and community revitalization initiatives that help build a stronger future.
Built in 1878, the sternwheel steamboat Toledo connected communities along the Cowlitz River and became an important part of the region's transportation history.
As the 150th anniversary of its maiden voyage approaches in 2028, GTHH is working to bring that history to life for a new generation through research, public programs, a large working model of the historic vessel, and plans for the anniversary celebration.
Looking beyond the anniversary, GTHH is also developing the concept for a Steamboat Theater & Museum—a distinctive community attraction inspired by the historic Toledo that would combine history, education, entertainment, and tourism.
Alongside our heritage work and long-range projects, GTHH is helping move practical community, educational, and environmental initiatives forward today.
